Welcome to Salt & Prepper!  This will be a unique preparedness blog in that I decided to use the information that took me months and a lot of footwork to find on preparing a ward, stake, city or community for disasters.  I decided to start this blog about a year ago.  I didn’t do it because, well –

1:  I didn’t know how to get all of the information I accumulated from my head to the page.

2: I don’t have the time.  I still don’t. I’m as busy as all of you.

3:  I was, and am, apprehensive about it.  Why? ( I know, its ridiculous.)

I haven’t really written anything in years, and it has gnawed at me for quite some time.  Why am I doing this?  Do I have anything new to say?  Although some may not be new, I have not found the expertise that I acquired anywhere.  I am often asked questions – and many times they are the same questions – about emergency preparedness.  The reason I am writing this blog is to put down the information I have in one place.  A resource, if you will, for anyone who has been put in the position to start an emergency preparedness plan for a ward, stake, or neighborhood.  It wasn’t an easy journey, but one that took many months.  In the end, though, it was a plan that worked.  A plan that worked with cities, neighborhoods and families.  Are you ready to start?  Are you ready to prepare for the disasters that may affect you or your neighbors?  If you are, let the journey begin.
